In preparation for this blog, choose one of the chapters from David Nye that we have NOT read yet, read through it, and take notes on it in any way that proves useful to you. You will want to choose a chapter that could potentially prove useful to you later in a research project.
Then, compose a blog that addresses the task below.
Last class, we looked at and analyzed the third goal for English 102, which asks students to
"Use key terms, distinctions, or concepts from sources to interpret, expand, and/or critique key terms, distinctions, or concepts from other sources."
For this blog, locate a key term, distinction, or concept from either Kim Vicente and Kurt Vonnegut and use it to "interpret, expand, and/or critique" a passage from the chapter you read. You will want to quote the passage from Nye directly, providing adequate context and a page number. You might also want to think about some of the following questions:
How does Vicente or Vonnegut help expand upon Nye's ideas? How could you use Vicente or Vonnegut to understand Nye's ideas better? In what ways does Vicente or Vonnegut help you critique some of Nye's ideas or see them from a different perspective?
This blog will be due at 9:00 am on Tuesday.
Now that I have your attention, check out this really funny video my friend posted on facebook. It definitely relates to our discussion last Tuesday.
Cheers!
