Last class, students selected and located at least three sources that Nye uses in his book Technology Matters.
For your next blog, I would like for you to summarize the main ideas and arguments of two of those sources. End your blog by describing what it is about the sources that you think Nye leaves out in his book and explain why you think he chooses to use these sources as he does. How would it enhance his argument if he drew from other aspects of the source? How would it further complicate his ideas? Do you think Nye uses the source responsibly? Does he, as our course goals ask you to do with your sources, quote from these sources "accurately and fairly"? Explain why or why not.
As always, this blog is due on Tuesday at 9:00 am.

My first source is called Technological Visions. The book basically explains the hopes and fears that shape new technologies. I choose this source because it looked intresting when i read it in the Technology Matters and when i looked up the source it was intresting. I believe this book was perfect for Nye's book. Because it talks about the good and the bad about new technology and thats what the controlling purpose of his book is anyways. I dont think it would complicate his book since it is pretty simple when talking about new technology.
ReplyDeleteMy second source i could not get it at the moment because i have it on recall so i can come back and add my second source when i receive it.
