Blog Assignment #7

For this blog, discuss the process you undertook to write your essay on Nye's use of two sources. What did you have to do to fulfill this assignment? What kind of reader did you have to become in order to write an effective essay? In other words, what sorts of critical questions did you have to ask as you read and reread Nye's sources? In what ways did you engage with these sources?

Also, how did you find peer-editing online this time around? Did you feel that your peers were helpful to you in their comments? What sorts of comments seemed to help the most? Was it helpful to see how other students formatted and tackled the assignment at hand? How so?

Finally, given your understanding as to how Nye uses sources, what have you come to understand about the responsibilities research writers have towards their sources? Do you feel that Nye always quoted from his sources accurately and fairly? Why or why not? What are some of the difficulties you think writers face when presenting their research? What sort of difficulties do you anticipate as a writer in terms of composing your research paper? When it comes to pull together your research, what might you try to do differently from Nye? Why?
